I crashed my car again last night
What we’re doing just isn’t right
My insurance premium’s through the roof
They say I was careless but they’re lacking all proof

I called in sick to work today
Thoughts of you get in the way
My boss complained that I had let him down
You could hear him screaming all the way across town

You make me lose my mind
This must be some sort of crime
And that’s the good news
Yeah that’s the good news

I thought that we were through
You were sick of me and I was done with you
Our resolve was weak
And our conviction fleeting
You’re bad news that bears repeating

I yanked our picture off the wall
You don’t even bother to call
You and I will have to put this to bed
I hope you don’t misconstrue the words I just said

I tore up all your Hallmark cards
My self-respect sends its regards
Our happiness has been lost to the past
As for the spark that remains I hope it won’t last
